Attiyya Anthony, who writes under the name Toni Carter, is an American journalist, author, editor, and activist. As a long-time government and community reporter, she has witnessed the importance of people and their passions in changing social landscapes. Her journalism has helped saved public lands from being overdeveloped, shined a light on police brutality and government corruption, and empowered the disenfranchised to vote. She founded the Fed Up Movement in 2014, which has evolved into the Foundation for the Development of the Urban Poor (FDUP). The goal of FDUP is to give disenfranchised populations the mental fortitude to redefine themselves in order to make public policy changes. Her writings are intended to bring light to the public tensions that undermine humanity. Book is available here: Gun Violence book cover
